That Nervous Feeling (Trailer) This is a trailer for my short film entitled "That Nervous Feeling" I've been wanting to post the film on youtube for a while but since I'm putting it in festivals I can't post it yet. It seems that most film festivals will not take your film if you've posted it on the net. So I did the next best thing and made a trailer. When my festival run is done I'll post the real thing. Forget Who We Are (Cap' N Jazz) I always watched those sprint commercials with the light art animation and wondered how they did it. I was told how they did it by a friend of mine while I was still going to film school. I played around with it a few times as credits for other short films and some misc. pictures. I thought it would be cool to see an animation where the light art actual sung or talked. So I made this video as an experimentation on that idea. I always liked this Cap' N Jazz song. It's one of my favorites. I was listening to this one in the car one day when it hit me, "Hey, this would go great with some crazy light art animation. It came out pretty good I think. White Dot (The Forms) Not much of a special story about this one. I recently bought myself a Cannon XL2 with two cheap lenses. I took it to Flagstaff with me twice in the last couple of months. I shot some random footage of the scenery to basically see what kinds of nice images I could get out of the camera and the lenses. The images looked pretty nice I thought. When I bought the new Forms album I heard the song White Dot and thought it would be nice to put these images to. So that's it. The Royal Tenenbaums (My cut) This is the recut I did of my midterm. You'll notice that the sound is a lot more quiet. The Royal Tenenbaums (Walter's Cut) This was my midterm during my year at film school. The assignment was to pick a scene from a movie that has already been made and direct it the way you would have done it. The cinematography in this is beautiful thanks to the talents of Noah Smith. Unfortunatly the sound killed this project. This was the cut that Walter did. I recommend that you take a look at my cut too. The sound is a little better on it. This was also an experimentation in crossing the line as well. I felt like I could cross it and still have people understand what was going on. I look back at it now and wish that I didn't do that. Scar Tissue This film we shot while in film school. Our little team had been known for not making very good films at the start of the year. The teachers told us that they thought we were not taking film seriously enough. So me and Walter put our heads together and came up with this idea for this film. I wrote the script and we filmed it in two days. I was worried that no one was going to get it and that I had failed once again at attempting to make a good film. The Employment Pages (Death Cab For Cutie) A video my cinematographer Walter, production designer Kim and I shot during the pre production period of "That Nervous Feeling." The concept was a lonely girl that keeps to her self one night decides to take a night on the town in search of conection. Kim felt really uncomfortable about being filmed and still does, but she looks nice in this video. The song of course is an older Deathcab for Cutie song. One of my favorites. Honestly? (American Football) This is one of the first video I ever edited to music. It consists of a bunch of footage from a few amatuer short features I shot when I was in highschool and some footage of an old band I was in. This song goes well with it to me because it is talking about those highschool days and mentalities that you wish you could forget and remember. It's Personal (The Radio Dept.) This was a short film idea that just never happened. My roomate and I started to film footage of a story about a guy whoose life goes down the tubes and he turns his back on the world and start snorting heroine. In the story he was going to die at the end. But we never finished it so I just made a music video out of what we shot. It still has somewhat of a narative story. In a drug kind of way.
