Sander Hicks speaks on 9/11 Sander Hicks started Vox Pop / Drench Kiss Media Corporation in 2003. Vox Pop is New York City's only union-shop, fair-trade coffeehouse/bookstore. Vox Pop recently published Hicks' new book, The Big Wedding: 9/11, The Whistle-Blowers, and the Cover-Up. Hicks is a playwright, journalist, songwriter and activist. He founded Soft Skull Press, Inc. in 1996. He was lead singer in White Collar Crime from 1996 to 2003. He lives in Brooklyn with Holley Anderson, his wife, and their son, Coleman. Abel Raises Cain Movie Trailer Long before The Yes Men hoaxed the WTO, and long before hipsters began pranking the Jerry Springer show, there was legendary culture-jammer Alan Abel. The director of the 1970's cult films Is There Sex After Death? and The Faking of the President infuriated conservatives and made a name for himself several times over with amazing media stunts that are just ridiculous enough to be believable -- especially to a media that feeds on salacious, far-fetched stories such as Abel's mock-moral crusade Citizens Against Breastfeeding which enraged people with its ridiculous "stop the naughty nipple" campaign in the late 1990s and his Society for Indecency to Naked Animals which advocated the clothing of pets so as to not offend in the 1960's (their slogan: "a nude horse is a rude horse"). Mouth to Mouth Movie Trailer Sherry (Ellen Page- Hard Candy, X-Men 3) is a 15 year old punk kid in London who joins up with a nomadic cult called S.P.A.R.K. They have been arrested in Italy, Baghdad, Israel, Geneva, and South Africa (where Soohen was quickly un-arrested by activists). Perhaps the most dramatic story from the film's production came in May 2002, when Jacqueline Soohen was one of a group of ten activists who broke the 180-day Israeli siege on the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, racing past the tanks and sniper towers with food and a video camera. She was the only camera inside the church and filmed dozens of hours of video while snipers pinned them down, using .50 caliber rounds and infrared scopes to shoot through doors. After two weeks inside the church, living off of lemon leaves and lamp oil, she was arrested by Israeli soldiers and imprisoned on a hunger strike for 14 more days. Her footage was seized by the Israeli Army who sold parts of it to an Israeli producer working for the BBC. Directors Rick Rowley and Jacquie Soohen are available to speak with the film.
